My research interests
My current research focuses on methodologies in structural engineering and seismic analysis. I am particularly interested in developing analytical tools, improving numerical modeling techniques, and contributing to earthquake-resistant design strategies for reinforced concrete structures.

01
Seismic Hazard
I focus on seismic hazard analysis in continental Ecuador using both probabilistic (PSHA) and deterministic (DSHA) approaches. My work integrates seismological data to evaluate earthquake risk across the region. This research supports hazard mapping, building code updates, and disaster resilience strategies.Click the link below to explore my PSHA model for continental Ecuador.
02
Structural Analysis
I specialize in nonlinear structural analysis using OpenSees, focusing on performance-based seismic assessment of buildings and shear wall systems. My work includes modeling material inelasticity, plastic hinges, and collapse mechanisms under earthquake loads. These studies aim to improve seismic resilience and guide structural design decisions.

03
Programming
I develop custom computational tools in Python to automate structural modeling, data processing, and seismic analysis workflows. My work includes interactive visualization apps, advanced finite element scripts, and performance-based design automation. These tools enhance both research productivity and practical engineering efficiency.
04
Signal analysis
I develop tools for the analysis of seismic signals with a focus on extracting meaningful ground motion parameters. My work includes baseline correction, frequency content analysis, and intensity measures such as Arias Intensity and response spectra. I also explore signal orientation through RotD00/50/100 calculations. These tools aim to support structural modeling and hazard assessments with realistic seismic input.
